Science and religion seems to be the theme of this month's Bulletin.
Coming up this Saturday, government scientist David Nunn will help us to explore the big debate about whether science and religion are complementary or contradictory.
Later in the month, Chris Street will help to unravel the mysteries of the Large Hadron Collider - don't forget that this event will be in the lovely Green House Hotel in Grove Road, Bournemouth.
There was a great response to Bournemouth Students’ Humanists and Atheists Society's stand at Bournemouth University’s Freshers' Fayre this year, so we're hoping the student group will flourish - more news inside.
In some parts of the world, declaring that you are an atheist can get you flung into jail. We've had a response from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office about Alexander Aan - please see the Emails and Letters column.
Dorset Humanists is the liveliest group around for atheists and agnostics who want a better world. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Best wishes,
David Warden
Chair, Dorset Humanists

Really liked the bulletin heading which, with the logo and slogan, is I think, informative and attractive.
Bit surprised at David's attack on the wearing of religious symbols. I see no harm provided the symbol does not threaten health and safety or security and does not contravene any agreed corporate dress code. I cannot see how such a symbol in the form of a badge or cross is charged with evengelical messages and certainly no more so than a turban or hijab. I usually wear my Humanist badge when representing DH and would no like to think anyone would wish to stop me doing so.
